Special Needs Emergency Registry

Rhode Island Special Needs Emergency Registry

The Rhode Island Special Needs Emergency Registry provides a reliable system for the identification of Rhode Islanders who may require special assistance during emergencies. If needed during a response to an emergency, the Department may use the registry to identify high-risk individuals and send emergency alert information to enrollees. Rhode Island adults and children with disabilities including Deaf & Hard of Hearing, chronic conditions, and special healthcare needs are urged to enroll in the Special Needs registry.

By participating in the Registry, the information submitted to the Rhode Island Special Needs Emergency Registry is shared with local and state first responders and emergency management officials. Your information is held confidentially and only accessed to assist in your safety and well-being.

The Department of Health and Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency have worked with E-911 to notify first responders when they are responding to a household that may have someone enrolled in the Registry. This notification allows first responders additional time to consider how to best respond to that incident.

Please note that strict confidentiality is maintained always and only those who have a reason to access the information are authorized to do so.

If you need assistance to complete the registry yourself, contact RICDHH at (401) 256-5511 VP or email EPCAP Coordinator at cdhh.main@cdhh.ri.gov.

Note:  A paper form (Spanish) is also available.
